ALPHACity is a software that we are creating for the XO in Brazil. It's at the beginning of beta phase.
It has an interface like a GameBoy. You can choose an avatar to "walk" at many "streets". The application has many "lots" (each lot is a web page). At each lot there are a link to open (when the avatar goes near an image of the XO over a table) a lesson of History, Mathematic, English etc. There are also some games to test the knowlegment of the kid.
ALPHACity is not multiplayer, like Second Life but, using the Bulletin Board, is possible (I hope) that Friends, at the same lot (each lot is a web page), chat about the lesson.
I know that you don't understand portuguese, but I need that someone, having a "real" XO (we don't have one), try to access our application and send me a feedback. I am testing using the emulator.
Open the browser and go to the address:
At the first page (yellow) choose an avatar clicking over one of the characters. Going to the first "lot", click and try to walk using the arrow-keys.
If someone has the mesh network available try to chat between two users of the same "lot".
