Nobody has presented a use case for a continuous system so what I'm going to request is a % alarm setpoint. The kernel can then set it to whatever it thinks is best. Each time it wakes it can set a new alarm point if it want a series of alarms.
I'll also setup a critical point alarm which will be 5% above the EC shutdown percentage.
