I am new to Linux, and much happier with Mandrake than I was with Red Hat,
by the way. I am trying to get a good understanding of programming the ttySn
ports, and the Serial-programming HOWTO is old and rather weak.
Can anyone point me to source for a simple program which would read from and
write to a port in raw mode? I don't need anything fancy, but I do need to
be certain that I can handle multiple ports at 38,400 without dropping
characters. Oh, and the requirements will include a variety of different
protocols, most of which have no fixed start or end of message characters.
Thanks,
William Meyer
