The clarification is that he intends to build the kernel and out-of- tree modules outside of Fedora, in which case it's sort of besides the point to be "for" or "against" it, since Fedora can't stop people building kernels outside of Fedora. OK, sure, we can debate whether we want this work somehow "associated" with a Fedora "initiative", but that feels like a bit of a nothingburger to me.
