I followed the instructions on this page: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Autoreinstallation_image
and updated a B2 device to OLPC Build 406. The XO starts up OK but there appears to be no wireless network. When starting up after: Setting hostname localhost.localdomain completes successfully the following error appears: raidautorun: failed to open /dev/md0: No such device or address and after pressing "I" all the services start up without errors except olpc-configure -- it reports this error: eth0 no private ioctls from a root shell ifconfig only lists the lo interface. On this page: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/B1-demo-notes under Network: "Click on the network icon (five bars on the upper-right of the Frame). A list of available wireless networks will show up in a drop down menu. If you cannot see any networks, it may be because the embedded control did not properly initialize the USB ports (the network controller is a USB device)-you will need to reboot." but I have no icons in the upper right -- it appears the USB port is not getting initialized. ---- Before updating the initial screen reported: OLPC B2 119k Memory OpenFirmware CL1 Q2B61 Q2B It now reports: OLPC B1 128 MB memory installed, S/N SHF7060025B OpenFirmware CL1 Q2C11 Q2C This machine appears to be a BTest-2 because it only has 128 MB of memory and has black lettering on the keyboard (so I'm confused by the B1 displayed in the startup screen). It's now running: OLPC Build 406 (stream development variant devel_jffs2) Kernel 2.6.21-20070507.3.olpc.15ac7a569001afe At this point I don't have any information on whether the wireless network worked properly before the upgrade. _______________________________________________ Devel mailing list [email protected] http://lists.laptop.org/listinfo/devel
