For that matter, Google docs lets you import .doc, .ppt. and .xls files. They are already running a server. And they include sharing. Better to put our efforts in to continuing to improve our own offerings: Abiword (Write) is more than adequate for most needs; there is a simple spreadsheet program in the works; Etoys can view Powerpoint and be used to create rich media presentations, etc.
