You will notice that the XO laptop ships with support for three audio codecs known to be the best in their specific area even when compared with proprietary ones. Vorbis for lossy music, FLAC for lossless music, and Speex for human voice (very useful for podcasts). And best of all, they fulfill all of those requirements you mention.
