the standard img builder for 8.2.x and backwards is pilgrim
http://dev.laptop.org/git?p=projects/pilgrim;a=summary

I wrote down some notes on customizing pilgrim for OLE Nepal:
http://tiezemans.wordpress.com/2008/12/30/customizing-the-xo-image/

Michael Stone made a successor called puritan, which handles a number
of things more cleanly
http://dev.laptop.org/git?p=projects/pilgrim;a=summary
Which has known to build 8.2 (767) images. Check the different heads
on the summary page.
And is now used I believe for rawhide, which builds images for a
future release based on fedora 11.

Then I believe there's an image builder based on liveusb-creator for
fedora 11, and I would like to know if there is a repo for that one
myself.

Note that the direction of future XO builds is a bit unclear at the moment.
