I've placed a couple XO-1s (one CSN748, one SHC842 - both build 802B1) with an ordinary family for use by their 5 and 6 year olds (in Texas). Those daughters had lots of trouble using the touchpad -- jumpy cursor; hard to control the cursor position; recalibration of touchpad (automatic or manual) did not last long.
