Hi all,
For quite some time, the IRC channel #m-labs on Freenode has been where
a lot of the activity happened. But good old IRC appears not to be to
the taste of everyone, so we now also have a more modern option at
https://chat.m-labs.hk/
This is based on Mattermost (an open source solution installed on our
own server) and it offers many features that IRC does not have, such as:
* message history is kept while you are offline
* a nicer web-based interface
* smartphone apps
* pictures
* email notifications
The Mattermost chat room is bridged to the IRC channel, i.e. messages
posted to IRC appear on Mattermost and vice versa. The IRC chat room is
not becoming obsolete - Mattermost is just another option. Choose what
you prefer.
