It can probably be ported, yes, though it hasn't been done and is definitely 
not a priority. Michael has worked on a uMon port (umonfw.com).

Because the new SDRAM initialization code only needs the CPU registers. Then, 
the rest of the bootloader can just use the external SDRAM instead of 
expensive on-chip SRAM.
