Some comments on this video: * "we value freedom over features": not a good idea, unless you want to end up like some open hardware projects that are failing. We want both freedom and features. Technically, proprietary products like [1] aren't super-hard to match, if not outperform, given the current state of things. It's essentially a relatively simple problem of software development. * not ready for "creative" people: I think we are close to. Last workshop at CNAM was with about 15 non-technical people almost all with artistic backgrounds, and they managed to write new patches after explanations and demonstrations. The MilkDrop programming language isn't complex, and learning it (by building a new patch) can be easily done by steps and experimentations. * the question about cloud computing is hilarious. Sounds like we're building an iPhone or something like that :)
