The Lattice tools have a lint tool in them.  I realize you aren't using LSCC 
FPGA's but HDL is HDL for the most part.

Using ispLever you can highlight any Verilog/VHDL file in the tree and in the 
Process Pane is a program called HDL Explorer.  This is a HDL checker.

In the newer Diamond tool set the Hierarchy tool is HDL Explorer renamed.

I don't have a lint license, but you're not the first one to talk about
LM32-related lint problems. I'm only using the LM32 core and no other
Lattice peripherals. What exactly are the lint issues you found?
