I would be interested in being a mentor for a LM32 MMU. I'm no expert
regarding the kernel support (interactions with context switches,
etc), but I can help with the hardware design and RTL work.

Are we supposed to provide a high-level design or other design
documents? Or should the job of choosing a design be entirely left to
the applicant?

There are many ways to design a MMU, so some restrictions on scope and
features are likely welcome.
