You only need to glue the 3 plastic pieces together, then it will be held in place mechanically. If you put glue on the switch, maybe the glue got into the switch and the switch is now malfunctioning.
I do hope that roh can ship those 3 button pieces glued together next time, it's hard to glue them together well unless you have experimented a little and know what you are doing. Maybe a good idea would be a dual-side glue film.
