Hi, RC2 platform comes with DMX TX 'push' type connector, NC3FAH1: http://en.qi-hardware.com/wiki/File:Mm1_rc2_dmx_tx_cable.JPG http://en.qi-hardware.com/wiki/File:Mm1_rc2_dmx_tx_cable_1.JPG http://en.qi-hardware.com/wiki/File:Mm1_rc2_dmx_tx_cable_2.JPG
Since trying to plug out a DMX TX cable, you may hard to push that 'push'. So considering alternatives: 1) change to NC3FAH1-0, retention spring 2) cut a corner into the acrylic on top to make the push button of NC3FAH1 more easily accessible. Compared to 'retention spring' type, NC3FAH1-0: http://en.qi-hardware.com/wiki/File:Mm1_rc2_dmx_tx_connector_front.JPG http://en.qi-hardware.com/wiki/File:Mm1_dmx_connectors_plugInOut.ogv http://en.qi-hardware.com/wiki/File:Mm1_dmx_connectors_plugInOut_case.ogv Although the retention spring type is easily accessable, but surely not like 'push' button type stable/solid which only you can plug out DMX cable with pressing 'push'. I am not sure that which type one is suitable to DJ platform, considering a motive on how often a user usually connects to DMX device? Plugging In/Out only once a month --> 'push' type? Many times in one day --> 'retention' type? or cut a corner on acrylic? So which one is better? To see if 'retention' type is not too loosen. Hopefully someone is a patron of using DMX devices can commit them after watching two ogv above. :-) Footprint: Their both drawings on both footprint are the same but mechanical have a little difference on those three pins. Actually the retention type one needs a new footprint. http://en.qi-hardware.com/wiki/File:Mm1_rc2_dmx_tx_connector_rearside.JPG http://en.qi-hardware.com/wiki/File:DmxTX_retention_and_push.JPG , this shows that its three pins have long square type that may collides on current rc2 footprint's mask layer. It's small thing though. Ref.: Neutrik - http://www.neutrik.com/de/de/audio/204_45791/XLR_Einbaubuchsen_productlist.aspx -- Adam
