As a matter of fact, I was already thinking of implementing a small "twitter wall" feature. Not for conferences - but to use at parties, to allow people to write text on the projection screen from a smartphone. It could also potentially help a bit with promoting the project virally.
Now if this can be done with RSS or anything else relatively standard instead of a twitter-specific protocol, it would be perfect. Note that unfortunately it still has to work in some way with twitter.com since that's what most people use... Getting pictures feeds is a bit more complicated. Lately I ported LibGD, which works, but slowly.
