hello all,

so i bought a Milkymist One board at CCCamp11, as i was quite intrigued by its
architecture and i/o :)

however, the board is not very stable. four out of five times it boots straight
into a random noise pattern. when it manages to boot into flickernoise, i can
select + run patches, however those hang after a short time, and i have to
power cycle the board in order to reboot.

the 'About' box reveals that the board is:
Flickernoise 0.1 (built on Nov 19 2010)
OS: RTEMS 4.10.99.0
Platform: Milkymist SoC 1.0RC1
Board: M1 (PCB rev. 1)

so i figured that i should flash the firmware with the latest version. because
of the unstable system, i'd rather do the flashing via jtag, as i don't want
the system to hang during flashing.

so i downloaded the latest binary images from
www.milkymist.org/snapshots/latest and installed urjtag (via macports, as i'm
running mac os x on my workstation) however when i try to run the jtag batch
file (as generated by reflash_m1.sh) it complains with:

Unknown cable type: milkymist

checking in urjtag interactive mode, there's indeed no support for such a cable
type. i cloned the latest urjtag sources from sourceforge, however after
running autogen.sh, it does not report any milkymist cable support either.

so my question is:
* how do i get urjtag support for the 'milkymist' jtag cable?

i'm also rather unclear about:
* what is the version of flickernoise at www.milkymist.org/snapshots/latest?
* what is the version of rtems at www.milkymist.org/snapshots/latest? (and
which of the files actually contains rtems)?
* should flashing the firmware work via urjtag on a macbookpro running 10.7
lion?
* should flashing the firmware help with those symptoms at all?

i haven't found anything on the wiki and didn't manage to visit #milkymist so
far.. so any help would be highly appreciated! :)

thanks/ cheers,
/folkert
