I'm not sure if electromicanical controls really make sense from a functional point of view. I.e., they tend to be more comfortable than touch controls when you need to make precise adjustments of a linear value, but M1 doesn't seem to need much of this. And you can have a vastly superior UI with a touch screen, with buttons that show what they do, instead of having to remember which patch or image is on what key.
