Yes but it's not reliable, depending on the card you use.

I agree that most people able to make significant contributions
to that side of the system would consider extending RTEMS' USB
stack a dead end.

The BSD USB stack has been ported to RTEMS and supports OHCI controllers (and many others); the problem is in the lower levels. Besides, I won't hear any Linux argument until Flickernoise runs smoothly on it and without any significant increase in boot time and less than 300% bloat.
