Thank you very much for your helpful clarifications. We are currently
collecting some machines for a testing environment -- it does not make
sense to develop something as multi-platform as OpenMPI/OpenRTE with
only a bunch of x86 Linux boxen. We have quite a collection of different
machines here at our institute, but nearly all of them have at least
IPv6 headers available. What a pity. ;-)

If someone could provide us an account on a non-IPv6-enabled Unix
machine (like an old Solaris or HP-UX), this would be very helpful. 
This way we can be sure not to break the build with our patches.
