I saw the traffic increase, but couldn't explain to myself why 1.3 would
generate more activity, other than the initial download page only has
1.3 and you need to hunt for anything else, which are tagged negatively
(ie. old, older, ancient). Your stats were of great interest,
particularly, for
which version OpenMPI developers may be utilizing in their projects.

I don't know; the stats only give the numbers. FWIW: there was
definitely an increase in the average number of downloads (~39/day for
v1.3 vs. ~25/day for v1.2).
I would suspect that the decrease in v1.2 downloads is a combination
of the two factors.
