I have put up a pull request https://github.com/open-mpi/ompi/pull/3822 to supply a fix for the fact that MPI_SIZEOF doesn't build when building OMPI with gfortran 4.8 (on RHEL 7). My team lead hopes that Jeff Squyres will review the patch.
