Note that the first patch seems to be a workaround for the fact that you're using git(-svn?), which doesn't version directories. setup/mapistore already exists versioned in SVN. The change seems fine to me, but it would be nice to mention the reason for it in the commit message.
Why is the second patch necessary? python-config should exist, and AM_PATH_PYTHON is part of automake (which OpenChange currently doesn't depend on). If you're on Debian/Ubuntu, do you have python-dev installed?
