On a more serious note:
- OE upstream builds with hash-style=gnu (but some prominent packages
ignore our LDFLAGS)
- There is a pending patch for --as-needed from poky... it needs
merging
- also disabling hwcaps in glibc (make strace -e stat and you will
see) is almost there
