I'm getting this with every firmware since at least 20090209. Happens almost every time you set interface to ad-hoc mode with iwconfig.

Best regards

Update!

I am using git latest, and decided to recompile minimal kernel based
on the micro configuration,
Some setting were required in order to make the ar6000 load, and now
after the wmiconfig
it actually works!!!!

But now I need to unload/load it after boot as for some strange reason
the driver
cannot detect its hardware correctly?!?!

Also, I am gettings these, and device is not available until reboot.

AR6000 disconnected

Need to figure out how to make this stable.

Thank you.

No the wmiconfig is not working...

Even if I can workaround the issue at my home AP, what will happen in
other places...?

Does anyone know why the wireless driver is not based on standard
kernel wireless interfaces (MAC80211 or IEEE80211)?

Two things to try:

1) Does
  wmiconfig -i eth0 --setlongpreamble 0
  make things work ?

2) If DD-WRT lets you enable long preambles, doing this should avoid
  the problem.

Please let me know if any of this helps. I'm particularly curious
about 1).

Thanks,
