In the Makefile.defs (trunk and 1.3.x branch) there is the following comment:
# WARNING: do not add mode=debug or mode=release anymore in the Makefile, # use make mode=debug all instead. Anyway no by default openser # is compiled w/ debugging symbols in all cases (-g). --andrei I guess there supposed to be the word "now" instead of "no".
