Please give it a test, I am planning to move it and its drivers to mainline repository this weekend.
NOTE for nvidia-drivers-96.41.xx users: the new xorg-server isn't compatbile with latest nvidia 96.xx legacy drivers currently available, sorry to say that we can't do anything else than waiting for NVIDIA to restore the compatibility. -- Fabio Erculiani
