VLC would NOT work in any case on my system.

Tried with many different video output settings, NOT REALIZING I HAD
TO CLOSE VLC TO APPLY THEM, so I pressed the "reset preferences"
button, and after closing and loading it up once more it worked again.

No idea what caused this.
