We expect a new kernel soon with a patch to address this problem.

In the meantime, if you run across a user encountering the problem,
they can modify the Live Session boot command by changing the 'cdroot'
parameter to 'cdroot=/dev/sd<x>1' where x is the drive id for the USB
or DVD drive.  This will cause the init script to skip searching every
drive.
