Hey Fabio,

in sabayon 11 after gcc upgrade to 4.7.2 I cannot emerge anymore. I wanted
to install latest nodejs and noticed, that there was a failure:

 * node-v0.10.2.tar.gz SHA256 SHA512 WHIRLPOOL size ;-) ...

                                      [ ok ]
>>> Unpacking source...
>>> Unpacking node-v0.10.2.tar.gz to
/var/tmp/portage/net-libs/nodejs-0.10.2/work
>>> Source unpacked in /var/tmp/portage/net-libs/nodejs-0.10.2/work
>>> Preparing source in
/var/tmp/portage/net-libs/nodejs-0.10.2/work/node-v0.10.2 ...
>>> Source prepared.
>>> Configuring source in
/var/tmp/portage/net-libs/nodejs-0.10.2/work/node-v0.10.2 ...
gcc-config: error: could not run/locate 'gcc'

after running gcc-config, I saw this:

greenpower k23 # gcc-config -l
 [1] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.6.3
 [2] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.6.3-hardenednopie

 [8] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.7.2-hardenednopiessp
 [9] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.7.2-hardenednossp
 [10] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.7.2-vanilla *

greenpower k23 # gcc
gcc-config: error: could not run/locate 'gcc'

So I set using gcc-config to the one I have installed (4.6.3) and
compilation started to work again.

$ eix gcc

Is it just an upgrade who set this or I miss something.

Thanks for the info.
