You would have to check on the calmares development site.  I don't know of
any time frames, best to subscribe to their mail list or something to keep
up with latest stuff. I think they just added LUKS to calamares 2.0, but
don't quote me on that.

You can install btrfs-tools while on the live disk, but yea it would be
good to have the package available instantly.
