Because I had an N9

and started developing Apps for that

and "got into" Qt

and realised that Qt enabled multiplatform development (Harmatan, Sailfish, BB10, Android, Ubuntu et al)

and because it allowed me to hone my unix skills

. . . and because it is not an iphone!
