I'm looking at https://docs.ntpsec.org/latest/warp.html under "NTP
Timescale and Data Formats" It describes a 128-bit "datestamp" format
consisting of an era number, seconds since epoch, and fractional
second, then asserts "The datestamp format is used internally".

I can find no trace of such use in the actual codebase. Have I gone
out of my mind, or did Dave Mills overcomplicate the documentation by
specifying a supposed primary datatype that is *nonexistent*?

/me thinks he might need a tranquilizer or three.

"Since there is no such entity as 'the public,' since the public is merely a
number of individuals, the idea that 'the public interest' supersedes private
interests and rights can have but one meaning: that the interests and rights of
some individuals take precedence over the interests and rights of others."
