We need to focus our default on helping the user that downloads our source tar ball to install the build exactly where Python upstream wants us to: /usr/local/lib/pythonx.Y/site-packages And yes, at least on Gentoo, by design, that is looked in by default by Python, which is the prupose of PYTHONPATH, which is now missing in NTPsec.
