i am so excited about the response to the project! it is going to take me a

so inspired to keep the needles moving. i have been laying in bed sick since
monday. it seems to be getting worse by the day, not better. i am so irritated
and antsy. i miss my family and i want to clean my house. messes are piling up
around me making it hard to relax and get well i can't cuddle grant or cate-
they need to stay well- so they are steering clear of me. i am bored and tired
and achy. the deal with pcos and carbs we lived on a corner in a typical o.c.
tract neighborhood. all day the kids hung out at that corner, played on that
grass, got drinks out of that hose, went through the secret passage way in the
juniper bushes, and only left the area to go "around the block" over and over
again. sometimes it was on bikes with banana seats, sometimes roller skates,
sometimes big wheels, sometimes walking, even occasionally on skateboards with
cardboard boxes on them (our "cars"). i bet that block is not nearly as big as
i remember it being, but i remember it being quite a trip. * so that means
2 pieces of good quality flannel or cotton (no other fabric type) 45" wide
(that's the width of a normal bolt) by 60" (which is 1 and 2/3 yards). so i
need 62 cotton or flannel fabric pieces, 45 x 60 inches. it would be good to
purchase 2 pieces together so that they will coordinate. soft and long lacy
scarf light enough for spring, extra long for winter wrapping, elegant enough
for church, cute enough for a tshirt...i really love this scarf pattern (gee
can you tell?). and then i found myself a mother. funny, i thought i'd teach
awhile longer and have grant all to myself and save some money. ten months
after we were married i was a stay at home mom, living the student life again
while grant went back to school. a few months later, another unplanned event-
my mom passed away suddenly. just a phone call one night. she had an aneurysm.
and although this was a surprise of the worst kind, it was the most spiritual
time of my life. much good and understanding has come through that loss. soft

elegant enough for church, cute enough for a tshirt...i really love this scarf
pattern (gee can you tell?). and i think i'm done cutting kits for a while.

the dishes she cleans for me!! i don't even have to rinse before putting things
in the dishwasher anymore! and how warm she keeps my toesies while i'm sitting
at the desk working on the computer! who needs slippers? it seems her only
desire in life is to be close to us. and all she asks for is an occasional pet
and some food and water. truly, my lowest maintenance friend. so i am making
my checklists and as people email me with what they want to donate i will check
off that amount. then i will email the people that said they will get whatever
i assign with the remaining needs and check those off. then i will fill in the
gaps myself. i will give you my address in the confirmation emails. expect all
of this to take me a little while! many people emailed asking if they could
just send money because of prohibitive shipping and that would be wonderful
too. i promise 1000% of the money will go to the kits. my paypal address is

go. any materials you want to send to me unfinished is fine, i will sew or
serge as needed. i can't thank those of you that emailed, and will continue to
email me, enough! this project has really turned my getting older into
