Out of the box (well.. the box I compiled and built with my svn version of openchange and the latest samba4 TP), openchange wouldn't connect to my exchange 2007 server - I'd suggest the first thing to test is that you can talk to e12 with a pre-2007 version of outlook; by default, you'll get an "Your Exchange Server Administrator has blocked the version of Outlook that you are using. Contact your administrator for assistance" error.
According to the exchange team blog: <starts>With Outlook 2007, you connect with no problem. Earlier versions of Outlook get this error:
"Your Exchange Server administrator has blocked the version of Outlook that you are using. Contact your administrator for assistance."
MAPI applications will get the error MAPI_E_FAILONEPROVIDER if they're using any version of MAPI except the version supplied by Outlook 2007.
<finishes>After configuring exchange 2007 as you would for an earlier version of outlook (essentially just creating a public folder store), I was able to connect happily with openchange with no other configuration required. I'd suggest if you do this and pre-outlook 2007 works, your problems probably aren't at the exchange end.
