From what I have seen in the commit logs, the local memory manager from
postgres module was removed and the one from ser is used.

Hi Bogdan! I'm such a bad programmer that I'm not sure if it affects
me. As the new module is a complete rewrite, I guess it does not
affect if you make changes, as porting the new module would also
replace your changes.
