the script variables exist all the time, and cannot be null, they are 0
if they are unassigned. I will check back, but the length of null should
be 0 now, I think I fixed that, otherwise I will do it right now.

this reminds me about the null value issue that i raised a few weeks
ago, i.e., that an unassigned script variable and a non-existing avp
would both have "null" value if used in an expression and that length of
"null" value is 0.
have you had time to consider this proposal or do you have some other
suggestion?
