Hi, as some of you may already have noticed, we have renamed the mirall GitHub repository to "client". The new URL is https://github.com/owncloud/client. Here is a short FAQ:
Q: Why did you rename the repository? A: The application started out under the name "Mirall", but the application is known as the ownCloud client for most of its existence. We are merely reflecting this chance, hoping to put an end to confusion from non-technical users (https://github.com/owncloud/client/issues is a much more logical place to look out for). Q: Won't this break a lot of infrastructure and links? A: No, GitHub has added working redirects for both Git and HTTP(S) URLs during the move. Q: Why are the transifex repository and (daily) source snapshots are still called 'mirall'? A: Because we have not renamed them yet. We will once our infrastructure has been adopted. Q: Why 'client'? Wouldn't 'desktop' be more descriptive? A: Possibly, but 'client' is a reserved name in the CLA. Since we don't want all our contributors to sign a new CLA, we went with this name. Q: What other chances have been made? A: We also reorganized the code into libsync (common library), gui (the GUI client) and cmd (the command line client). We have also renamed the "MIrall" namespace. Q: Will this cause difficulties in rebasing my 1.7-based branch to master? A: It might, but we still think the much cleaner structure outweights the merge problems.
