Hmmm, I am undecided if it is too late in the release cycle to check for GNU sed
and build it if it is not present? I know we do not strictly meet GCC build
prereqs using a BSD sed.
The GCC maintainer told me that a GNU sed is a build requirement and the
FreeBSD maintainer told me that they don't want to add GNU sed features
to the BSD sed. I use the GNU sed for more than one year to build the tools.
