Hi Guys, We just noticed a strange problem in our driver such that when we do VT switching, when switching back to X11 the X server is calling the palette programming functions for modes > 8bpp. Any idea why this is? It was causing the gamma ramp to get all screwed up for 16bpp modes on some cards, so for now we simply ignore the palette calls on > 8bpp modes to fix this.
I was thinking it could be related to gamma ramp programming, but I am told that this only happens during VT switching. The palette functions never get called during regular mode sets.
