Interesting. You're sure you are working with a current XFree86 CVS
version and the lines
key <BKSP> {
type="CTRL+ALT",
symbols[Group1]= [ BackSpace, Terminate_Server ]
};
don't occur in your /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/symbols/gb file?
