I've just committed this, but it needed some changes to work with the new XKB-configurable hot keys. Did you find that the patch as sent worked in that case? I also found that the operation of xf86EnableVTSwitch() was broken after the XKB hot key changes, and that should be fixed now too. A natural extension of this would be to allow this setting to be changed via the XFree86-Misc extension.
