i came to the point that showkey -s gives me individual codes for each and every key ( i would have been scared if that didnt happen ) ... so how can i now get X to equal ..
where does X construct the Scancode- Keycode tables ??
on the console i can sucessfully asign a keycode to the scancodes i get ..
but i cannot do so i X
i always get a already used keycode for some keys ...
Can somebody help me digging into the "wonders of X mapping the scancode " ...
would be great

Hi
I ve a nice one :
I am using a TABLET PC and there we have multiple extra buttons both on the keyboard and on the unit itself ..
now when i use xev to determine the Keycodes i get different ones for each button on keyboard , but 2 buttons on the unit itself get me the some code as i get from UP and from HOME ....
when i now use showkey , i get different codes for those 2 buttons on the unit :-) but now the extra buttons on the keyboard doesnt send someting !!!
how can i tell X to combine these two cases so i get a different code for each button ??
