Hm?!? 4.2.1 works just fine here (maybe you had the wrong XKB files
lying around for you 4.2.1 build?).

Could you please inform me, when somwone starts to debug this issue?
I'll to this after some important SANE backend development today - but
I do not have time to spend when someone already looks into this
issue.
