Summary: nedit kills telnet in CYGWIN
Initial Comment:
On a WIN2K machine with latest release of X in
CYGWIN,
when I use nedit with -display and -server and filename
options it causes a telnet session running in an rxvt
window to hang. The options used dont seem to affect
the hang situation - I tried with out them.

Does nedit still run normally after telnet freezes? If it
doesn't, how much CPU does it use? Do you have DDD
installed? What happens if you start DDD? What happens if
you start telnet in a plain bash instead of rxvt?

Ah, I see, I thought you would start NEdit on a second host,
which you connect to via telnet. So I have a different set
of questions: Does nedit still run normally after telnet
freezes? If it doesn't, how much CPU does it use? Do you
have DDD installed? What happens if you start DDD? What
happens if you start telnet in a plain bash instead of rxvt?
(Someone removed our warning, 0.93.95 is untested.)

The sequence for startup is win2k, then cygwin.
Then under cygwin I start rxvt and then X so rxvt terminal is
not under X manager.
Then in rxvt window I start telnet.
Then in any other window I start nedit and bam - it hits.and
telnet hangs
I must say it hits about 90% of the time, usually with a large
ndit file.
I noted that it makes no difference where I start nedi, as I
tried it in a pure X under CYGWIN environment.

Ive not tried ssh
and not sure what you mean about open another connection
to see if nedit still runs?
Do you mean kill the hung telnet, leave nedit running and
start another telnet?

So you start rxvt on Windows, telnet to another host, start
nedit there and it freezes? Can you open another connection
to see whether the nedit process still runs? What happens if
you use ssh? What is the exact command line you use?
