I don't see how you could ever escape CVS - its required in order for us to keep track of changes. What I'll instrument is a means to take-in suggestions from the general public, have them be scrutinized by someone and then (somehow - yet to be determined) systematically have them be added to CVS and trigger a regeneration of the DICT database. > 1) Web interface to take an English word and spit out Arabic one. > (Wordlist will make it through the top of the list within Google). This should really have nothing to do with QaMoose - a simple offline script could be created to do this for ya. > 3) It would be nice if I can search for a word (as admin) and modify the > Arabic translation over the web without the need to cvs my changes. I'm gathering if you modified the Arabic translation, you'd want to keep it as such which would mean the involvement of CVS. I think you are simply trying to replace your Kbabel with QaMoose (which is not entirely the purpose, but its something to consider). > In a nutshell, both dictd & mysql based dictionaries running on arabeyes > server. I'm with you there except for the "mysql based for the public web queries". All public web queries will be of the DICT server. The mysql will only come into play for words suggested by the public (as additions and/or corrections) - how those mysql words make it back to CVS and subsequently the DICT database is for later discussion.
