I'm not sure if there are people that already asked this question before, 1 - The current status of fribidi2.
Library is done as far as I'm concerned. I want to add UTF-8 features, but not in the first release.
2 - when we expect official release.
No timeline right now, as I don't have time to work on it :(.
3 - What we stop us form having this release.
Porting the command-line tool to non-deprecated API, and writing some high-level documentation about how to use the new API/

You can port the command-line tool to new API. I'm here to help. I can write a general overview of what needs to be done after you study the code. I have in fact written that to the list I guess. In short, you need to see what deprecated fribidi_log2vis() is doing, and do that in the command-line tool, but also handling line breaking that fribidi_log2vis() doesn't.
