Salam, I have no relation with OCR before, but I think it's better if we can replace the mathematical recognition of letters by the artificial intelligence recoginition. Arabic as you know is quite unique among languages, and there is a lot of stuff different stuff different in it, so patient and long, very long, job is needed to apply ordinary OCR rules on it. But by artificial intelligence, I believe we can reduce a remarkable part of the work by offering the core multiple fonts and letting him learn how to recognize each letter in its multiple forms, according to some rules of course. And by training the software, we will make it more accurate and at last an AOCR database will be obtained.
That was my humble thinking about the issue.
